Speak Your Mind

Now that we have completed reading Orwell's Animal Farm, it's time for you to pass a little judgment. Below are various questions that we just didn't have time to go over in class, so here is where you can post your opinion.

  2. I think that Orwell did an excellent job of representing the human way through these animals. They way the more stupid animals react to the pigs orders as though sheep (ha, ha) show how the smarter, and more educated have the upper-hand over the dumb. It also shows how even the most kind, though the powerful characters in the book are nothing of the sort, with power, can become control freaks. And also how pig headed mankind can truly be.

  3. I agree with Gwen. It did show very good human qualities and I liked how some animals were dumber than others. This was a good book!

  4. I think that the last sentence of the book was the best, because it's true... anyways, this was a solid book with an exciting topic that will keep you reading. It is one of the greatest books I have ever read, coming into a close second with the Tale of Despereaux in first and the Invention of Hugo Cabret in third. It totally ties in with Russia at the time, and the video on YouTube is a good source for tying in the book with stalinist Russia. I really, really enjoyed this book, smart and dumb animals alike.
